This is the Gerber US Assist, model 30-001205. This has a drop-point blade made of CPM S30V steel. You've got your dual ramped thumb studs. You have got your cross bolt safety, which means I'll show you kind of how but you have to push this thing through all the way until you see red over here and then from there that's when you knew it was ready to use your thumb studs and open that up. Give your plunge lock system handle with some classy lines, it makes it look really pretty and classy knife. This is made of glass filled nylon, does have a lanyard hole and then a stainless steel clip on the back, more urban knee looking and it can be changed from tip up to tip down. This does have the B.O.S.S. the BOSS Tech which is Balls of Stainless Steel that Gerber is proud of and again you'll see here made in the USA Portland Oregon and S30V steel on the blade there. Okay, so the US Assist this BOSS technology is leverages a ball bearing system which provides Gerber's smoothest most consistent deployment to date. Stainless steel balls reduce friction for seamless opening every time. It's a caged system and designed to keep the balls contained for stable performance over the long haul. So that's what the BOSS technology is. This blade length is three inches, overall here you're at 7.2, weighing in at 3.9 ounces. So again we want to close it, we're just going to push down this plunge lock system, close it into the handle and then we wanted to lock it down so it's going to change here you see the red and you just push it through silver on this edge but that's how you're going to know it's locked down, it's not coming out. Now push it and then out, can't just push it a little bit, you got to push it all the way through until you see some red come over here and then now you can use your dual thumb studs to open this knife up. Okay so the US Assist and that is a stonewashed finish. I think I know it talked about the blade with CPM S30V but it is a stonewashed finish, we want to point that out too.
